Sho' me the money!
And so now we witness the dissolution of the Big 12 conference, Nebraska to the Big 10, Colorado to the Pac 10, and soon, Texas, Texas Tech, OU & OSU. there is only one reason for this, and Iowa State said it best in a letter to Nebraska and Colorado "But as all of the discussions about conference realignment illustrate,
the future of college athletics appears to be less about academics and
competitive success and more about money, as measured by television
viewership and the associated revenues"
So if it's all about the money, its time to stop the legal slavery, and pay the student athletes for the services they perform, for without the student athletes, there would be no revenues for these money hungry schools to be fighting over.
At this point Nebraska is poised to make 10 million more in their move... will the Nebraska taxpayers see a cut in their taxes going towards higher education?
Needless to say I'm sick about the entire situation. greed and the Big 12's "leadership" & inability to make things right, have ruined college football in the short term.
