as we celebrate the 234th birthday of our great nation, let's remember the brave men and women who fought to protect this this nation, the entrepreneurs, explorers, and trail-blazers who built up this nation, and the politicians who are trying to destroy it.

Well, it's new to me...  The owner of Oklahoma's The Road Blog contacted me wanting to do a link exchange, well as some have noticed, I really don't have a link exchange set up here. Anyway, I decided to go check out his blog and its a assortment of funny, interesting, and sometimes thought provoking pictures that he has taken or found.

Last night I installed Windows 7 onto a machine that I had built for a friend. Besides a issue with some RAM the building of the machine was a snap.

So I go to install the 64 bit version of Windows 7 upgrade, since this was a new machine, I didnt want to have to go to the trouble of installing his copy of XP, then do a clean install of Windows, so I wanted to see if Win 7 behaved the same way previous versions of Windows upgrade versions workd, which is: Windows looks for a copy of the OS, if it isnt present, then it will ask for you to put a copy of the old OS software in the floppy drive or CD.

It didnt ask instead it asked if I want to upgrade or do a custom install. I choose custom and spend the next hour installing the software. All went well until it asked for the product key. I entered in the key on the box and it said invalid key. I entered the XP key in, same thing. After a bit of searching I find out I have to install XP first. It would have been nice to know that ahead of time so I woulnt have to install an OS three times on one machine in a span of 3 hours.

My guess is the disks that come in the "upgrade" package are full installs, and only the keys are different depending on if the "windows.old" directory is on the hard drive.

On a positive note, if found all the drivers nessesary for the machine to run properly, though I will probably upgrade the video drivers.

No matter how bad it gets, we still have a lot to be thankful for... Through His Grace we are given more than we deserve, and through His Mercy we are protected from what we do deserve.

There are many things we can learn about ourselves & our relationship with God from the pets he has provided for us.  

God wants us to obey him, but with a joyful heart. He wants us to love him and to trust him. He wants us to work hard and he wants us to play hard. Instead we ignore him, do our own thing, and only come to him if we want something.

 

The Arena Football League cancels their 2009 season. However the AF2, of which the Talons are a part of, will play on as normal.

To all the veterans of the Armed Forces of the United States of America, I thank you. Your bravery, honor and heroism have done more to ensure the freedom of this country than any politician or reporter could ever dream of doing.

Freedom is not a gift bestowed upon us by other men, but a right that belongs to us by the laws of God and nature.

Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become more corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.

The Constitution only gives people the right to pursue happiness. You have to catch it yourself.

When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic.

They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither safety nor liberty.

If any form of government is capable of making a nation happy, ours I think bids fair now for producing that effect. But after all, much depends on the people who are to be governed.

Recently the Transformers hit the big screen based off of the 1980s cartoon. Turns out that the movie has an Oklahoma link that would make a nice piece for a Route 66 museum. The 77 Camaro used for the first incarnation of Bumblebee is titled in Oklahoma, and is up for auction on ebay!

Doug Marlette died in a single car accident in Tuesday morning in Mississippi, He was 57.

As long as a live I will hold this cartoon by Doug Marlette close to my heart.
