Calling Dr. Obvious...

Apparently when we have to spend money on something we evaluate just how much we really need the service. The latest example is Americans cutting back on Dr. visits. Ive been saying for years that Dr. visit co-pays are too low and people will just use it because it is there not necessarily because anything is wrong, which leads to putting a burden on the medical system.

Mobster on Obama

I'd love to know if people could come back from the dead, from World War II and saw this today, my God, would they be outraged, they'd move to a communist country...  ok... because it didn't work in the Soviet Union, its not working in Cuba, why does this guy thing it going to work [here].   - Vince Curatola (Johnny Sack on The Sopranos)

Bad Leadership

Jeremiah 5:30-31 (NIV)

30 "A horrible and shocking thing
       has happened in the land:

 31 The prophets prophesy lies,
the priests rule by their own authority,
and my people love it this way.
But what will you do in the end?

Fools and money

I'm hoping we can get the fools in Washington away from our money in November.

(un)naturally higher temperatures

According to the NOAA, this has been the hottest June ever recorded. Until they address the fact that their temperature stations are placed next to asphalt parking lots at airports (which absorb heat), or next to AC unit vents (which produce heat), then this study means nothing.

This guy has done a fantastic job pointing out how the NOAA is placing Data stations in places where the temperature will (un)naturally be higher then the actual temps. A good example is his July 14th post concerning a 109 temp reading at the NOAA station in Carefree AZ, where two nearby stations showed the temp to be ~5 degrees cooler... so technically there is man made warming, it's man putting temperture monitors next to man made objects which draw in or produce heat.

I am shocked I tell you... SHOCKED!

Well, no, not really...

Whoever didn't see that coming is a complete moron.

Happy 4th of July

as we celebrate the 234th birthday of our great nation, let's remember the brave men and women who fought to protect this this nation, the entrepreneurs, explorers, and trail-blazers who built up this nation, and the politicians who are trying to destroy it.
