"You need to have people in the top jobs who can actually do them" President Obama to Interior Secretary Salazar
... Ironic isn't it?

75 years ago today, Carl Magee filed a patent application for what would become one of the most hated inventions in history.. the parking meter.
Thanks to the Arizona illegal immigration law, a school in Illinois has canceled a trip to a basketball tournament in Arizona that the girl's basketball team had worked hard to gather the money required to attend. The school is now citing "safety reasons" for not allowing them to attend.
As we all know, this is a load of crap. if they were truly interested in the girls safety, they would not have allowed them to go BEFORE the law was enacted because of the, kidnappings, murder, drug running, human trafficking and other assorted crimes that have been committed the same illegal immigrates that Arizona's new law is aimed at.

George Bush, Queen Elizabeth, and Vladimir Putin all die and go to hell.
While there, they notice a red phone and ask what it is for. The
devil tells them it is for calling back to Earth.
Putin asks to call Russia and talks for 5 minutes. When he is
finished the devil informs him that the cost is a million dollars, so
Putin writes him a check.
Next Queen Elizabeth calls England and talks for 30 minutes. When she
is finished the devil informs her that the cost is 6 million dollars, so
she writes him a check.
Finally George Bush gets his turn and talks for 4 hours. When he is
finished the devil informs him that the cost is $5.00.
When Putin hears this he goes ballistic and asks the devil why Bush
got to call the USA so cheaply.
The devil smiles and replies, "Since Obama took over, the country has
gone to hell, so it's a local call.

If you go to Sam's looking for Beef'n More dogfood you may have noticed it wasn't in stock... Sam's has discontinued carrying it.
According to the Beef'n More home office, you will be able to find it in 2 of the PetCo stores in town by the end of the month, one of those stores being on 41st street.
UPDATE: It's now available!

driving on the access road that loops behind the SW side of 71st and Lewis this afternoon I pass a street sweeper cleaning the dirt off the roads... nevermind that we were forecast to get a lot of rain later in the day, but just who is paying for this "service"?
If it is the city, don't we have bigger things to worry about?
Furthermore, the street sweeping truck had commercial tags, so if the city did pay for it they outsourced it.

Well, it's new to me... The owner of Oklahoma's The Road Blog contacted me wanting to do a link exchange, well as some have noticed, I really don't have a link exchange set up here. Anyway, I decided to go check out his blog and its a assortment of funny, interesting, and sometimes thought provoking pictures that he has taken or found.

and now the story...
New recycling bins with tracking chips coming to Alexandria
"If you know who's participating in the programs, you can focus your education and outreach to those who are not participating,"
...so they can "fund public education", this time by cutting some tax credits.
Lets lay a few facts on the table.
1) Oklahoma's funding for public education is almost triple what it was in 1985.
2) however the population rise in our schools has not grown significantly in the same 25 year period (a large chunk of that has been Hispanic, and with our current laws we cant know if they are here legally or not)

According to the NYTimes, at least 32 African-Americans are running for Congress this year as Republicans. To which I say, good luck guys, we need more people of minority races to show that you don't have to be shackled to the democrat party.
So it seems Simon Cowell of American Idol, X-Factor and Brittan's got Talent has decided to speak out a bit about the elections going on in his home land and some of the quotes really struck a chord:
"I've also learned two other things on my travels.
One is that the majority of our wealth of talented people aren't being given the chance they need to grow and bloom at the moment.
And two, the country has too many social problems - in particular knife crime and a collapse in family values."
"Choosing how you vote should not be a snap verdict based on a few minutes of television. We are not talent show judges picking pretty-sounding contestants now.
The future government of our country is so much more important than that."
It should be everyone's birthright to get the chance to fulfil their dream.
"Yes, for some it's being a pop star. But for many more hard-working Brits, it's something far less flash - it's starting your own business.
That's what it was for me. But that's harder in our country now than it has been for a long time and that really has to change.
It's not just that the banks won't lend. The masses of red tape, regulation
and political correctness have tied us all up in knots"
"It's the government's job to encourage entrepreneurialism and investment. Most importantly, it's the government's duty to inspire confidence.
It should give hope to the younger generation to build on our wonderful heritage. It should inspire us to get out there and create and invent.
And then it should get right out of the way."
"And this comes back to a bigger problem. I have always believed family plays a massive role in helping young people achieve.
Everyone can only benefit from the encouragement of their mum and dad. I certainly did, and remain eternally grateful for it too.
I worry that we are losing that old-school respect."
"And I think this is down to a breakdown of rules. When I was young and we got caught pinching apples, we got a smack from the local policeman. Today if that happened he would be sued.
There is a tendency to punish the victim, not the criminal. If someone broke
into my house or my mum's house, I worry that the burglar has more rights
Makes me wonder... are we there yet?

It has nothing to do with "helping" the illegal immigrants, if it was, they would use the influence they have to try and fix the problems in Mexico.
No, the reason the Catholic Church is putting on this show for the Illegals is for money.
It's all about money. Illegal immigrants from Latin America are mostly Catholic, and they are devout, so if they go, so goes the tithes the Catholic church receives.
