Theocracy - Mirror of Souls

The last weekend I stumbled across a band that can be best described as a cross between Iron Maiden, Metallica and Stryper.

The Christian Progressive Metal band out of Athens, Georgia didn't start as a band apparently, but as a one man operation from Matt Smith, with crunchy guitars, high soaring vocals, furious drumming, and inspirational lyrics. That is all there in their sophmore album, Mirror of Souls, except now there is a full band behind Smith.

This band is what I wanted Stryper to be, but they had to much filler on their albums for my liking. Theocracy may have some filler on thiers, but you will be hard pressed to find it, as they arent aiming for the "pop" audience like Stryper was.

Its also amazing how Theocracy is being acknowledged in the secular world, though the message in their music is clear.

If you go to their website (www.theocracymusic.com/), there is a streaming audio clip you can sample, or you can download some free Christmas music (yeah I know its a little early for Christmas music)

Why are you running Fallin?

and Im not talking running for Governor, but running away from a debate. If you will avoid your opposition, what else will you avoid?

FALLIN DUMPS DEBATE; BROGDON HOLDS TOWNHALL FOR GOP STALWARTS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - January 22 2010

OWASSO, OK-  A debate scheduled between the two Republican candidates for Governor, State Senator Randy Brogdon (R-Owasso) and Representative Mary Fallin (R-OK) on Saturday will not take shape as a gubernatorial debate or forum. Represenative Fallin declined the invitation. Senator Brogdon was invited to host town hall meeting to discuss his plans for governor in lieu there of, expecting record turnout.

Brogdon said "I am very honored that the people of the 2nd District have invited me to come and share my vision for all of Oklahoma, not just the major metropolitan areas." The second Oklahoma congressional district encompasses most of eastern Oklahoma and includes Adair, Craig, Muskogee and Okfuskee counties. "In most statewide elections the 2nd District is sometimes over looked, but I think that the people of eastern Oklahoma deserve just as much representation as any other part of the state." Brogdon continued.

The town hall forum  will take place on Saturay at 1:00pm at the Muskogee Public Library - 801 W. Okmulgee, Muskogee Oklahoma.

Remember the Day

Received this in the old email box the other day, how short our memories are... (Notes & Links added by me)

-----------------------------

For those of you who are sick of hearing "inherited from Bush", think about this:

(NOTE: The republicans are not faultless in this whole fiasco, they ran up a hefty tab the first 6 years of the Bush presidency)

Remember the day...
January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress:

At the time:

The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77

(NOTE: Up from a low of 8,235.81 on Sept. 21. 2001)

The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%

The Unemployment rate was 4.6%

George Bush's Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB CREATION!

(NOTE: The Democrat media lapdog were doing their best to say we were in a recession, now they are trying to undo the lie and say the recession is over.)

Remember the day...

January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.

(NOTE: in 2003, President Bush recommended a new agency to oversee Freddie Mac/Fannie Mae, which Barney Frank opposed)

The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy?
BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!!!

THANK YOU DEMOCRATS for taking us from 13,000 DOW, 3.5 GDP and 4.6% Unemployment... to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOS!

ALL the while, Obama was raking in PAC money from Fannie and Freddie!

WHERE WERE YOU DURING THE MAKINGS OF THE CRISIS?!?!?! In the Senate as a complicit partner IN THE SWAMP.

So when you want to blame Bush...

REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007.... THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!

Been saying this all along

and now a democrat confirms it...

"We fell into the trap of post-partisanship," he said. "I'm all in favor of being post-partisan as long as the other party is post-partisan." - Rep. Richard Neal (D-Mass.)

(In other words, I'm all for tolerance, as long as the other side agrees with me)

Open Letter to Democrat politicians

this also applies to RINOS as well

We're not going to take it

We're not going to take it - Twisted Sister

Oh We're Not Gonna Take It
no, We Ain't Gonna Take It
oh We're Not Gonna Take It Anymore

we've Got The Right To Choose And
there Ain't No Way We'll Lose It
this Is Our Life, This Is Our Song
we'll Fight The Powers That Be Just
don't Pick Our Destiny 'cause
you Don't Know Us, You Don't Belong

oh We're Not Gonna Take It
no, We Ain't Gonna Take It
oh We're Not Gonna Take It Anymore

oh You're So Condescending
your Gall Is Never Ending
we Don't Want Nothin', Not A Thing From You
your Life Is Trite And Jaded
boring And Confiscated
if That's Your Best, Your Best Won't Do

oh.....................
oh.....................
we're Right (yeah)
we're Free (yeah)
we'll Fight (yeah)
you'll See (yeah)

oh We're Not Gonna Take It
no, We Ain't Gonna Take It
oh We're Not Gonna Take It Anymore

oh We're Not Gonna Take It
no, We Ain't Gonna Take It
oh We're Not Gonna Take It Anymore
no Way!

Wake up (The Sleeping Giant)

pretty appropriate song for today (and the near future), dont you think?

Wake up (The Sleeping Giant) by Twisted Sister

Gather 'round us, join with the band
Together we're stronger, together we'll stand
Say what can you do, well, we've got a plan
And we're gonna take you to the promised land

It's time to remember, it's time to move on
They've pushed it too far, they don't know what they've done
If it's a fight that they want then it's a fight that they'll get
We never lose, honey so place your bets

Long ago and far away
We had a voice, you know that we had a say
We won't live for yesterday
Ready or not, we're gonna have our way

We got the numbers, yeah, we got the might
We got the strenght and we got the right
We got the reason, yeah, we got the night
So wake up the sleeping giant

Not one more minute, not one more day
We've waited too long, can't let our chance slip away
We won't stop 'til we get it, we won't stop 'til we're done
We'll bite and we'll claw until they've lost and we've won

We took all we're gonna take
It's got to stop, you know there's too much at stake
Who the hell are they to say
What we can do and how we can play

Whoa
Wake up the sleeping giant
Whoa
Wake up the sleeping giant

Let's push to the limit, so let's push 'til we're home
We've been good too long, they wouldn't leave us alone
It's our rights they're abusing, it's our right to fight back
So rally the troops and let's start the attack

Whoa
We got the numbers, you know we got the might
Whoa
Wake up the sleeping giant
Whoa
We got the reason and we're ready to fight
Whoa
Wake up the sleeping giant

Then and now

“Remember when Ronald Regan was president, we also had Bob Hope and Johnny Cash still with us….Now we have Obama, no hope and no cash.”

Divers places

Matthew 24:3-7
3
And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

4And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

5For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

6And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

7For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

On a side note, Pat Robertson made the headlines (yet again) by saying that the Hatians made a pact with the devil and are (effectively) getting what they deserve. Dear Pat, Shut up. This is a legend, maybe its true maybe it isnt, but now is not the time to point it out.

Blind Loyalty

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public."
- Theodore Roosevelt, 1918

Really cold

I didn't realize how cold it is lately. I saw a Democrat downtown with his hands in his own pockets.

I'm glad I'm not an OKC Thunder fan

cause they way they treated Chris Paul, who they cheered for not very long ago. It was not his fault the Hornets went back to New Orleans...

I'm so thankfull for global warming

Can you image how much colder it would be without it?

I know, those that believe in the hoax will say "you can't apply local weather to a global problem"

Ok, here are a few recent headlines:

Once in a generation cold snap forecast for NC
Britain facing one of the coldest winters in 100 years, experts predict
Heavy snow brings Beijing to standstill
Siberian winds usher in record lows in Beijing
Cold weather, dense fog cause more than 30 deaths in northern India over past 24 hours
Dublin airport suspends flights in cold weather
Calgary beats cold record set in 1893

I think we could use a little of that global warming right about now, don't you?

EDIT: More headlines today...

Vermont sets 'all-time record for one snowstorm'...
Iowa temps 'a solid 30 degrees below normal'...
Seoul buried in heaviest snowfall in 70 years...
Historic ice build-up shuts down NJ nuclear power plant...
Beijing -- coldest in 40 years...
Miami shivers from coldest weather in decade...
