Just what is a pandemic anyway?

We've seen the WHO, CDC, UN and individual gov'ts raising the fear level concerning the Swine Flu, but why? What's the difference between the Swine Flu and the 500,000 deaths each year from plain old influenza?

Tinted Windows

Tulsa's own Taylor Hanson has joined forces with Bun E. Carlos (Cheap Trick), James Iha (Smashing Pumpkins) & Adam Schlesinger (Fountains of Wayne) to form a Power Pop group called Tinted Windows, The CD was released today, but it seems to be pretty scarce around these parts for some odd reason, considering the local tie in. So until you can find it, here are a couple of videos to tide you over...

UPDATE: I finally listened to the whole CD, there really isnt a bad song in the bunch, you can definitally hear the Cheap Trick & Smashing Pumpkins influences.

The deepest cut

Obama proposed that 100,000,000 be cut from federal agencies... which is .0028%  of the overall 3,550,000,000,000 budget... I'm guessing he thinks Americans arent so good at math anymore...

We scared them...

After reading the responses from the media and from people responding to stories on message boards,  yesterdays "tea parties" have really scared the left, and not in the way they are portraying (racists, hatemongers, etc.). No, the left is afraid that mainstream America has finally woken up and won't let them play their little games anymore. They are afraid that the politicians may actually listen to the people who actually keep this country running, and pay their own way. They are afraid that they may have finally gone to far. And they have.

We need to stand up and say we're Americans, and we have the right to debate and disagree with any administration. - Hillary Clinton

True then, true today

Deuteronomy 31:20 (English Standard Version)

For when I have brought them into the land flowing with milk and honey, which I swore to give to their fathers, and they have eaten and are full and grown fat, they will turn to other gods and serve them, and despise me and break my covenant.
