I'm thankful Islam is a religion of peace...

I would hate to see what it would be like if it wasn't...

A Thanksgiving thought

As I look back over the last year, even with all the disappointments and disasters, I have so much to be thankful for, and if you would look on your life, (and are honest with yourself), you would have to come to the same conclusion.

You probably still have a job while others are physically not able to work. Our poorest people live better than most in Africa.

You are able to read this blog, while there are so many who are uneducated.

You probably threw more food away last year than some people had to eat.

Even if you are sick you have access to the best medical system in the world.

You live in a country where you can speak your mind, and not be thrown in jail.

You live in a country where you can worship your god as you want.

Greed is what got us into our current crisis, it's time to learn to be content and thankful for what we already have.

Even a broken clock...

Today the democrats said no to the "Big 3", at least until they show them what their business plan is concerning the bailout money... my question is why havent they been doing this all along? 350 billion has already been handed out, and to Who? For what purpose? What is their plan? How do we know this money... OUR money... is being used properly and that we are not just throwing good money after bad?  Where is the accountability?

Too bad...

When it comes to Obama's cabinet and other positions (8000 in all), he wants to know some pretty specific information about who is applying for the jobs. His team is sending out a 63 question questionnaire, that some are calling "invasive". It's too bad that the media didn't give him the same type of treatment before we hired an unknown to the highest office in the land.

Chicken Little

Al Gore has said he was not interested in a position in Obama's administration heading up issues of the environment, and why would he? He's much more successful in the private sector with his sky-is-falling rhetoric, and if he is in a position of the gov't, he might be held accountable for his actions.

He's Back.... (again)

No Gov't help needed...

Citi announced today that they are stopping the forclosures of properties where the owners are working in good faith to retain their homes. If more banks would do this it would help on many levels...

A sincere thank you!

To all the veterans of the Armed Forces of the United States of America, I thank you. Your bravery, honor and heroism have done more to ensure the freedom of this country than any politician or reporter could ever dream of doing.

No matter what happens tomorrow...

There has been an email running loose for the last few weeks predicting the results of the election, saying that no matter what happens, God is still in control. I have rounded up a few verses emphasizing this. (ESV)

Proverbs 8:15(a)
By me kings reign

Daniel 2:21
He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding;

Colossians 1:16
For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.

It should also be known we also get what we deserve. God's chosen people were not immune from his wrath, he allowed them to be ruled over by evil kings, he let them be overrun by cruel nations, and he eventually allowed them to be scattered to the 4 corners of the earth... Don't for one second think we are any better than his chosen people were.

Liberals...

...they'll fight to the death for your right to agree with them.

For anyone who reads blogs or news stories that allow comments, you will have found this to be true. If the story is anti-Obama, the pro-Obama people will do anything they can to cut down the person writing the article, not even remotly discussing the content of the article... Just like they did with "Joe the Pumber".

Alice Cooper on the election...

Although legendary rocker Alice Cooper has been often quoted in the media as a supporter of the Republican Party, Cooper set the record straight during a recent interview with Canada's Hour.ca. "I'll be honest, I go from Democrat to Republican," he said. "I vote for the person, not the party. [As for U.S. Vice President hopeful Sarah Palin], I think she's totally a breath of fresh air. When they say she has no experience, maybe that's what Washington needs. I still don't know who I'm going to vote for. But in a shooting war, I want a pit bull, not a poodle. I'm gonna go for the hawk."
