Follow the leader...

Im a little tired of the so called leadership in Tulsa using places like San Antonio and Oklahoma City as reasons we should develop the river, especially since we arent going to develop our river like they did. Can you see the difference? (Ill throw Indianapolis in there for good measure since Bill wanted to copy them)...

Fun and games......

I want to know who this state rep is!

one State Representative counters that a developed river, while it would mean more tax money, would bring more entertainment options for everyone.

Firstly... The people of the North Side, West Side, East Side, and South side dont care about "entertainment options", especially when the people pushing these "entertainment options" are the same people that evicted BELLS, a real entertainment option!

Secondly... there is nothing in this plan that will increse the tax base, its nothing but parks and "gathering areas". All it will do is drain the people's pockets to pay for it.

A Big Old Blank Check...

DO NOT TRUST THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS!

Sample Ballot

“SHALL THE COUNTY OF TULSA,
OKLAHOMA, BY ITS BOARD OF
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, LEVY
AND COLLECT A FOUR-TENTHS
OF ONE PERCENT (4/10%) SALES
TAX FO THE PURPOSE OF
ARKANSAS RIVER CORIDOR
DEVELOPMENT WITHIN TULSA
COUNTY, OKLAHOMA, AND/OR TO
BE APPLIED OR PLEDGED
TOWARD THE PAYMENT OF
PRINCIPAL AND INTEREST ON
ANY INDEBTEDNESS, INCLUDING

INCURED BY OR ON BEHALF OF
TULSA COUNTY FOR SUCH PURPOSE,
SUCH SALES TAX TO COMMENCE
ON JANUARY 1, 2008 , AND
CONTINUING THEREAFTER TO
DECEMBER 31, 2014?”

We got to do something!!!

Some people are so gullable or impatient that they believe the lies and will vote for the river because "We got to do something"... The river has waited this long, it can at least wait til all the studies are done and we get approval from the Corp.

Here are a few quotes from the TulsaNow forum

"because sometimes you settle... you take what you can get, when you can get it... i dont think this is the last chance for the river but it is the only option NOW and i want something done now not five or ten years from now..."

"I'm probably going to vote yes simply because I have yet to hear a better proposal. I want SOMETHING to be done, and no one else is stepping up with viable alternatives. I guess not wanting to lose out on the private money is another reason."

Dont give them any more money!

We give and give and give, and all they do is waste, waste, WASTE!

The city/county gov't is no better than the begger on the side of the (pothole infested) road. Even though their sign says they are homeless needing some money for food, you know that giving them any money will be immediatly wasted on booze and/or drugs.

So why are you even considering giving these people more of your hard earned money? Its time to "help" the city by just saying NO. If you want better streets, just say NO to the River Tax, we already had some people interested in developing it WITHOUT raising OUR taxes.

Will they do it?

Will Iran really pull the trigger, or are they just playing a game?

FIX STREETS FIRST!

NO River TAX Vote NO Oct. 9

"I will be voting NO on the River TAX. Tulsa County has the highest total tax burden of any county in Oklahoma and each year that burden seems to be expand. I am compelled to stand with Tulsa County taxpayers on this issue."

Ken Yazel
Tulsa County Assessor

"This vote is not about the river; it is about Tulsa priorities."

"At a time when our streets are deteriorating, schools are failing, and crime is rising, the City of Tulsa would be foolish to surrender more taxing authority to the county.

This county tax is bad public policy. It places the cities within Tulsa County at the mercy of county government and diverts vital resources the cities may need in order to fix basic infrastructure."

John Eagleton
Tulsa City Councilor

Roscoe H. Turner
Tulsa City Council Chairman

Broken Arrow priorities

"Taking tax dollars from Broken Arrow citizens to pay for improvements in other cities ties our hands in meeting our own city’s infrastructure and public safety needs."

Wade McCaleb
Mayor of Broken Arrow

Owasso priorities "I oppose this tax initiative for two fundamental reasons. The first is that there is nothing in the $282million proposal that would benefit my district. I am not for adding new taxes for projects unrelated to the basic infrastructure and public safety needs for which the government is responsible."

Randy Brogdon
State Senator - Owasso

Sunset on the Camelot

Today I drove by the Camelot and noticed the Gargoyles had been removed from the "tower" though Im sad to see it go, sometimes things really do need to be removed for safety reasons.

Here are a couple of pics I took a few weeks ago:

NO RIVER TAX!

I dont have much more to say, its about the roads and public safety.
Its time to quit allowing the fat cats in town to "play" with our money, its time we make gov't work FOR us.
Remember Bells, the county threw money away on that deal, and you expect them to use your money wisely this time?

If you want a sign you can go to the Republican or Democratic headquaters. apparently there is a high demand!

We have good news and bad news to report.

The good news is that we have a large amount of people requesting yard signs. The bad news is that our small army can no longer keep up with demand.  You can pick up signs at both the Republican and Democratic Headquarters in Tulsa.

Tulsa Republican Headquarters
5840 South Memorial Drive Suite 333
Tulsa, OK
(918) 627-5702

Tulsa Democratic Headquarters
3930 E 31st St
Tulsa, OK 74135
(918) 742-2457

Due to sign theft, please put your address on your sign so we can prosecute whoever is found with the signs.

It's been 6 years

6 years since we were attacked,
6 years when over 3000 people lost their lived to a deranged madman in the middle east,
6 years since we came together as a country,
6 years since we searched for an answer,
6 years since we reached up to God.

Since that time, we have become divided, apathetic, hateful, and once again have turned our backs on God.

This is an article that was written a day or so after 9/11. Reading it you will see we have lost everything good that happened as a result of that day.

Monday, Tuesday

On Monday we emailed jokes
On Tuesday we did not

On Monday we thought that we were secure
On Tuesday we learned better

On Monday we were talking about heroes as being athletes
On Tuesday we relearned who our heroes are

On Monday we were irritated that our rebate checks had not arrived
On Tuesday we gave money away to people we had never met

On Monday there were people fighting against praying in schools
On Tuesday you would have been hard pressed to find a
school where someone was not praying

On Monday people argued with their kids about picking up their room
On Tuesday the same people could not get home fast enough to hug their kids

On Monday people were upset that they had to wait 6
minutes in a fast food drive through line
On Tuesday people didn't care about waiting up to 6 hours
to give blood for the dying

On Monday we waved our flags signifying our cultural diversity
On Tuesday we waved only the American flag

On Monday there were people trying to separate each other
by race, sex, color and creed
On Tuesday they were all holding hands

On Monday we men or women, black or white, old or young,
rich or poor, gay or straight, Christian or non-Christian.
On Tuesday we were Americans

On Monday politicians argued about budget surpluses
On Tuesday grief stricken they sang 'God Bless America'

On Monday the President was going to Florida to read to children
On Tuesday he returned to Washington to protect our children

On Monday we had families
On Tuesday we had orphans

On Monday people went to work as usual
On Tuesday they died

On Monday people were fighting the 10 commandments on government property
On Tuesday the same people all said 'God help us all'
while thinking 'Thou shall not kill'

It is sadly ironic how it takes horrific events to place
things into perspective, but it has. The lessons learned
this week, the things we have taken for granted, the
things that have been forgotten or overlooked, hopefully
will never be forgotten again.

Concrete Hsu

Clinton donor fails to appear in court again

Have they tried dragging the bay?
Hsu will end up just like Ron Brown and Vince Foster, another mysterious death tied to the Clintons.

UPDATE: They found him in Colorado, alive

I wouldn't have gone there anyway

the Owner of Amrican AutoMart in Tulsa has put a bounty of $5 on the No River Tax signs. Since I am in the market for a new or used car, I made note of the name of the dealership so I could avoid it. But after a bit of research I found out that it is a "tote the note" dealership I woulnt have gone the to purchase a car anyway.

Its only fair!

Want an idea of what is quite possibly to come in the last days? Just look to the UK. It's Gov't is taking every possible bit of technology and applying it to use against... errr... for the protection of their citizens. Cameras, ID cards, and now a DNA database.

Because of the illegal alien invasion that our gov't allowed to happen, expect the same thing here, after all, its only fair!

Let's play a little word game...

On Whoopi Goldberg's debut on The View, she decides to defend Michael Vick's dog fighting. She said that "from where he comes from" in the South, dogfighting isn't that unusual.

"It's like cockfighting in Puerto Rico," she said. "There are certain things that are indicative to certain parts of the country."

Let's change the word dogfighting to crossburning. Since that is something that is indicative of the south, does that make it ok Whoopi?

My own personal boycott

After watching the special on KOTV with Randi Miller's "explanation" for the eviction of Bell's from county land I have decided that I am not going to the fair this year, and quite possibly for some time to come, especially if Murphy Brothers are allowed to use the now vacated land.

After watching the report, it is now clear that the county gov't is either incompetent or corrupt, leaning strongly towards the later, especially concerning the campaign money given by Murphy Brothers, the clause in the contract favoring Murphy Brothers, and the "joke" concerning the Business Proposal.

The county lost over 150k in rent (which is more per year than Big Splash and the Drillers combined pay), I have no intention of helping them make up that difference as long as people like Miller are in control. If you fell like joining me, I support your decision 100% as Bell's was another landmark destroyed by the corruption that is Tulsa.

Also let it be known that Im going to actively campaign and vote for ANYBODY that runs against Miller in the next election... Yes, that includes the likes of Paul Tay if he so desires to run, afterall, they couldnt be any worse...
